Most countries budget less than 1% for Mental Health. Every year, there are 60 million new cases in the USA alone. That is 2 people per second! Over 5 million people are disabled by severe mental illness. 1 in 100 people will develop schizophrenia. 1 in 10 people with schizophrenia will commit suicide. 1 in 5 people with Bi-polar disorder (manic-depressive) will comitt suicide. There are pervasive delays in getting treatment The median average is 10 years before most people get the help they need. This contributes to the severity and lower success rates for treatment. We need to help each other now.
